Technical Data: Seamless Joint Method for Embedded Expansion Devices for Bridges

Years of trial and error! Effective in bridge longevity measures and roadside/traffic environment measures!

This document introduces the seamless joint method for buried expansion devices used in bridges. This method aims to achieve continuous pavement by using a highly elastic pavement material called "Falcon SJ," which has properties similar to the surrounding pavement, along with a simple mechanism called the "joint frame" that is buried, absorbing deformations at the expansion joints. It includes sections such as "Transition of Buried Joints," "Products and Construction of the Seamless Joint Method," and "Waterproofing of Seamless Joints." [Contents (excerpt)] ■ Introduction ■ Transition of Buried Joints ■ Products and Construction of the Seamless Joint Method ■ Durability of the Seamless Joint Method ■ Waterproofing of Seamless Joints *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

"Hybrid Joint" expansion device confirmed for 50 years of durability.

Confirmed durability of 50 years through fatigue endurance testing!

The Hybrid Joint NS-LL type and 3LIIA type have been confirmed to have a durability of 50 years after undergoing a loading test of 6 million cycles as specified by NEXCO's fatigue durability test. Traditionally, expansion devices are often required to have a durability of about 30 years, but since bridges are expected to last 100 years, it is undeniable that expansion devices can shorten the lifespan of bridges. Our product, the Hybrid Joint, contributes to extending the lifespan of the expansion device itself, thereby reducing lifecycle costs and promoting the longevity of bridges. We offer a wide range of products from small to large, accommodating expansion amounts from 20mm to 600mm. 【Features】 ○ 50 years of durability ○ High water-tightness ○ Steel vertical shape ~~ We are currently seeking agents! Agents from the Tohoku and Hokuriku regions are very welcome! Of course, we can also accommodate companies from other regions! ~~ For more details, please contact us or request a catalog.

NEXCO specifications expansion device new product born! Obtaining NEXCO certification!

New product NEXCO certified | CF-20 | NCF type | 3LII-150 | 3LII-160 |

To adopt our products on the expressway (NEXCO), it is necessary to obtain certification in accordance with NEXCO's guidelines. Our lineup for NEXCO has traditionally included the CF type (expansion amounts of 30, 50, and 80mm) and the 3LII type (expansion amounts of 200, 250, 300, and 350mm). However, there was a gap between 80mm and 200mm, making it difficult to provide good proposals for projects requiring an expansion amount of 100mm. To address this demand, we developed the NCF-100 with an expansion amount of 100mm, and the 3LII-150 and 3LII-160 with expansion amounts of 150mm and 160mm, respectively. Additionally, we developed the CF-20 with a compact design and an expansion amount of 20mm, as well as the NCF type that can handle snow compaction. We are pleased to announce that these new products have received new certification from NEXCO. It is worth noting that the expansion amounts of 150mm and 160mm are close because the order documents may specify those exact expansion amounts. Please feel free to request materials or contact us at the timing of your product consideration before bidding or after winning the bid.

[Column] What is an expansion device? Explaining its role in bridges and highways.

We are explaining what role the expansion and contraction device plays!

An expansion joint is a device used to fill the gaps found in bridges and highways. If there are gaps in a bridge, it can cause issues when vehicles pass over it, so these joints are installed to cover the gaps and allow for a comfortable passage. However, although they are referred to as coverings, they are not simply metal plates that cover the gaps. There are other roles that an expansion joint is required to fulfill, and manufacturers produce and handle products that meet the necessary quality and functionality. This article explains the roles that expansion joints play. It also summarizes the types of expansion joints and manufacturers, so by reading it, you should gain a general understanding of the topic. *For detailed information, please refer to the related links. Feel free to contact us for more information.*
